Based on a true story, Moneyball is a movie for anybody who has ever dreamed of taking on the system. Brad Pitt stars as Billy Beane, the general manager of the Oakland A's and the guy who assembles the team, who has an epiphany: all of baseball's conventional wisdom is wrong. Forced to reinvent his team on a tight budget, Beane will have to outsmart the richer clubs. The onetime jock teams with Ivy League grad Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) in an unlikely partnership, recruiting bargain players that the scouts call flawed, but all of whom have an ability to get on base, score runs, and win games. It's more than baseball, it's a revolution – one that challenges old school traditions and puts Beane in the crosshairs of those who say he's tearing out the heart and soul of the game.

  • Will be one of the classics

In time this movie will be one of the classics. Not only was the movie great but the subject matter is as well. It's about how the game of baseball was changed and the way it will be played for years to come.
  • Ballers on TV should take a lesson

This movie moves at a baseball pace, slow & easy. Brad Pitt is great in the part.

Excellent directing, writing, and acting. Brad Pitt's and Johah Hill's best performances. This a truly exceptional film, abslolute perfection.
  • Movie for anyone who doesn’t “fit in"

Great as a baseball movie. Even better for inspiration. As the movie shows, A’s GM Beane was reviled and derided for his decision to go down a different path from all the baseball “experts”. The low-budget A’s team of no-name and over-the-hill players set the AL record with their 20-game win streak in 2002. (On the other hand, if Beane hadn’t revealed his methods to Michael Lewis for his book, the A’s might have advanced further in the playoffs….)

Just a few short words. I liked it, easy to watch over some stupid movies and this one kept me entertained. Nothing more to say. It was enjoyable.
  • An Excellent Portrayal

I didn’t know what to expect. I was bored, and not even an overt fan of baseball. I looked at the critics, and consumer reviews, watched the trailers, then figured I would check it out. The story was well told, and the pace kept me interested. I really enjoyed the movie, and highly recommend it. In short, this movies tells a story that transcends it beyond being a “baseball” story. It’s a must watch.
