Honestly.. why all the negative reviews? This movie was not going to win an Oscar for best screenplay. Meryl Streep wasn’t going to make a surprise scene stealing cameo here. You’re renting / buying this movie to watch giant robots and monsters beat the crap out of each other. The movie delivers on it’s promise.

The first movie was well done. This second installent kinda stinks. Bad writing, bad directing, bad casting, mediocre acting. If it werent for all the expensive fx and such, this would pretty much be close to a B-movie. I had a really hard time paying attention. I will never watch it again.

I tried to like it... I really really tried. But this movie has a fatal flaw. Its dumb. It has been filmed for dumb audience to sell cheap effects and expensive toys, but it could've been filmed so much better. Actors were there, pretty good ones I might add and the had connection (pun intended), robots and monsters were there. Even mega R2-D2 was there. Some nice jokes were there. Some heart warming friendships were there. But no plot. None. Nada. Zilch. So there... I watched it... 5.99 gone...

For perspective, I absolutely hated the first one, but I'm a sucker for SciFi, sooo... This film spends THIRTY MINUTES with the characters before the action really begins, and in my opinion, that's a very good thing. It's transformers that's actually trying to tell a story with interesting characters as a reason to care about saving the world, instead of having to save it just because. You may not like the characters or care that the filmmakers decided to care, but a team that cares about it's characters generally cares more about the overall product. It shows. Once the action gets going, it's pretty relentless and the fights are choreographed as good as any fight between real people. Frankly, the fights are thrilling. Fun camera angles and heroes who are always on the defense. Oh, and giant robots smashing cities. It's got that in spades.
  • Poor Imitation

I liked the Tranformers Movies and was interested in seeing this film. It's very poorly done. Virtually no plot, acting, and cheaply produced special effects. Your time is more important than spending it on this movie.
