Acclaimed filmmaker Guy Ritchie brings his dynamic style to the epic fantasy action adventure “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.” Starring Charlie Hunnam in the title role, the film is an iconoclastic take on the classic Excalibur myth, tracing Arthur’s journey from the streets to the throne. When the child Arthur’s father is murdered, Vortigern (Jude Law), Arthur’s uncle, seizes the crown. Robbed of his birthright and with no idea who he truly is, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, his life is turned upside down and he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy…whether he likes it or not.

I love this movie I’ve watched it one to many times. Love to see another one with all the same actors
  • One of the best

This is one of the best movie.. guy Ritchie is awesome. He reminds me of Francis Coppola’s directing. Great editing and music scoring. The story has underlining meaning and I love the revelation in it! Amazing story! It deserves an award 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  • Rotten Tomatoes Knows Crap! Great Movie!

Great movie! That’s another great movie that got unjustifiably low rating by rotten tomatoes. I guess that’s why they are called rotten, because of the quality of their reviews...
  • Critics are too critical

This is an awesome retelling. They say it takes away the the heart of an age old tale. Tales, are meant to be told, by different people and different perspectives. It’s the retelling that makes it’s a wonderful tale. If you came to see a remake of Excalibur, then go watch Excalibur. I love how they cast Arthur as a scrappy kid who is more interested in a non-violent resolution. Using his brains more than his braun. The only reason this movie didn’t do so well at the box office was critic review. Look at most of the marvel movies, almost everyone of them are poorly written but still crush at the box office. Compare Thor, with Thor Darkworld and Thor Ragnorak. The second film is a joke. All I’m saying is the critical review didn’t give this movie a fair shake as has been given other movies that probably didn’t deserve it.
  • Great movie, forget the critics

The directors fast-paced approach DID work. Not every single King Arthur rendition has to be exactly the same. To me, the storytelling was not at all harmed by the fast pace. Great characters, great take. It was also set up well for the sequel.
  • Critics got this one wrong

  • Yes.

This movie takes risks. From its witty, fast paced everything to its percussive non-traditional soundtrack to its unique filming.. It kills it. The plot is pretty average for an Arthur style legend movie, but everything about it is brought to life by the characters, acting, dialogue, soundtrack, etc. If you're looking for something funny, fast paced, and adrenaline pumping, this movie will deliver again and again.. because you're going to want to watch it more than once.
  • Don't let critics stop you from enjoying this masterpiece

Incredible movie. The characters, the costuming, the effects, the refreshing treatment of a classic plot, excellent toggling between humorous and serious. Excellent soundtrack too. I loved this movie and will watch again soon. Also, with this movie I am finally abandoning that movie critic (tomato) site. It would have been such a tragedy if the poor ratings and snobbery there had kept me from seeing this incredible film.
